Between 2010 and 2014, Spodnik served as Communications & Marketing Manager under the previous Executive Director, Ron Fox. Spodnik’s return streamlines some communication functions under the new Executive Director, Colleen Padilla.

Padilla says, “I was pleased to learn that Codi was available to return in the same timeframe that I was named Executive Director. It’s been a very efficient transition, due to her familiarity with SOREDI and her expertise in communications.”

Spodnik’s addition to the current team at SOREDI allows for a seamless transition in communication tasks as Padilla takes on the role of Executive Director. SOREDI has recently boosted their visibility with the implementation of The Southern Oregon Edge campaign and Padilla didn’t want to lose traction.

Padilla continues, “Codi enhances SOREDI’s effort to help business launch, relocate and prosper in Southern Oregon by providing support to every member of the SOREDI staff as they carry out their daily outreach to local businesses.

Spodnik says, “I’m so excited to be back at SOREDI. I came on board just in time for the 2016 Annual Meeting and I’m so proud of all they’ve done this last year! I look forward to getting back to boasting about their accomplishments at every opportunity. I really love working behind the scenes to promote and support their efforts.”

Spodnik lives in Jacksonville with her husband, Mike and her two children, ages 9 and 11. When she isn’t online offering SOREDI’s services to businesses in our region, she can often be spotted shuttling her children from one activity to another.

SOREDI is a private, membership-based, non-profit organization, governed by a 28-member board of directors. Its six-person staff is charged with local business expansion and new business recruitment efforts, financial assistance to start-up companies through its business loan fund, and management of Enterprise Zones in Jackson and Josephine Counties. The agency was formed as a regional economic development agency in 1987.
