July is Birthday Month for SOREDI!

Happy Birthday to us!

It’s our 37th birthday this month and what a year it has been!

• We readily connected with more than 600 businesses through site visits, industry tours, start-up conversations, meetings, letters of support, gap-financing, and business-to-business introductions.
• We directly assisted 9 companies with expansion incentives through enterprise zone management for their collective $41.2 million investment in new capital and the creation/retention of 233 jobs.
• We facilitated 3 local expansion projects with their groundbreaking and ribbon cutting celebrations; Herb Pharm in Medford, Mycorrhizal Applications in White City, and Pacific Wall Systems in Phoenix.

SOREDI has a strong future! The Board of Directors approved a strategic 3-year investment of reserves allowing the agency to take on several critical bodies of work:

• Serving as fiscal manager of a $225,000 Business Oregon grant for the Southern Oregon Innovation Hub.
• Administering a $399,000 grant from the Oregon Legislature, over the next 3 years, respective to Workforce Housing initiatives.
• Updating the region’s 5-year One Rogue Valley Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). To review the region’s current strategy, click here.
• Coordinating several strategic board sub-committees to establish long term growth strategies for sustainable, mission-based growth.

We are committed to this work and remain poised to pivot to regional needs and opportunities, the intrinsic value of SOREDI to Southern Oregon.
