Rogue River Mayor Pam Van Arsdale was honored Friday with the James C. Richards Award during the League of Oregon Cities’ 100th Annual Conference in Portland.
The award, one of the highest distinctions given by the League, recognizes an elected city official who demonstrates exceptional personal investment in intergovernmental affairs. Van Arsdale was praised for her unwavering dedication to public service, regional collaboration, and effective leadership throughout her eight-year tenure as mayor.
Under her leadership, Rogue River has modernized key city policies and secured vital transit services through partnerships with neighboring counties. Van Arsdale has also played an influential role in regional governance, serving eight years on the Rogue Valley Council of Governments board.
