Recently, KDRV reported on the City of Medford’s progress toward an economic improvement district. “If approved, the city of Medford and the Downtown Medford Association aim to have the formation process completed by March 31, 2026.”
“According to the Downtown Medford Association, EIDs have a tendency to fail due to lack of engagement with key constituents, lack of unified direction and poor leadership. However, they also highlight that successful EIDs have a renewal rate of 99% in the U.S.”
According to the Economic Improvement District website, “An EID is a funding mechanism that would ensure the long-term sustainability of our organization and the downtown coalition building, revitalization, and beautification work we do.”
Additional information on the EID proposal can be found here.
