SOREDI was excited to attend the Talent Maker City groundbreaking for a new home in the area directly affected by the Almeda fire, bringing “hope and vitality” to the downtown area. This modern and 8,000 s/ft building will become their new permanent home and will serve the entire Southern Oregon region.
Alli French, Executive Director, is looking forward to the additional space helping them keep up with the demand for the different programs offered, which are regularly selling out.
Their current home is bursting at the seams, noted by Piper Tamler, Leader Woodshop instructor. The room to store supplies is getting to the point where donations are being turned away. They need more space!
Talent Maker City contributes to our region by providing placemaking projects that create community amenities for residents, including youth. Its success shows the deliberate community collaboration being made each day – “Talent Maker City is a nonprofit organization based in Talent, Oregon, working to build a more connected, prosperous, and resilient community through hands-on creativity and innovative STEAM-based learning”.
