SOREDI’s Innovative Campaign Unveiled at Today’s 27^th Annual Meeting

MEDFORD, OR– Sunny Jackson and Josephine County sit on the California border and I-5 corridor but the region has been unknown on a national scale, until now. Today, at 1pm at the Inn at the Commons in Medford, Oregon –  Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development Inc. (SOREDI) officially launches an innovative national marketing campaign to attract businesses to the area.

This innovative campaign shares the unique attributes of the region’s bright business climate through interviews and imagery of successful traded sector companies located in Southern Oregon. This first group of stories and images include award winning and innovative hi tech, e-commerce, and software development firms located in both Jackson and Josephine Counties. The stories express real business advantages of excellent customer service cultures stemming from a “pay it forward” mentality that is the essence of the region. They provide examples of assistance from several agencies that have aided finding facility and development locations, capital investment funds, and incentives in enterprise zones. And, nearly all of the stories highlight the remarkable quality of life which helps with the recruiting of key team members, and building a stable workforce.

SOREDI plans to grow the number of campaign stories to more than 60 over the next three to five years. Eventually, The Edge will represent all the major industry sectors like wood products, food processing, manufacturing, and the area’s unusually large entertainment industry.

The outcome of the campaign will include increased interest from relocating businesses and a thematically stronger marketing message for existing businesses to leverage their own messaging.  According to Ron Fox, Executive Director of SOREDI, “Statistics don’t tell the whole story of the business and balance advantages available in Southern Oregon.  We are so excited about the Southern Oregon Edge Campaign; nothing like this has ever been done for the greater Rogue Valley region.”
