How can Toastmasters help entrepreneurs?

As an entrepreneur being able to craft a compelling pitch is an essential skill whether you are raising money, selling your products / services or convincing someone to come work for you. While the content of a pitch is always important, so is it’s delivery and this is where organisations like Toastmasters can really help improve these skills.

This week I ran into Lyndsey Bassett a software entrepreneur based out of The Hivve in Grants Pass and she told me a little bit more about the Toastmasters groups she organizes in Grants Pass. If you’re looking to practice and hone your public speaking skills check it out:

Rogue Valley Networking Toastmasters
Meets every week on Monday, 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
The Boardroom
1867 Williams Highway, Grants Pass, OR 97527

It’s all about the delivery. Practice your pitch, learn to craft compelling, concise speeches and speak with confidence, even “off the cuff.” Gain constructive feedback in a warm, supportive, and fun environment.

Rogue Valley Networking Toastmasters began as a business networking group in Grants Pass, OR. Today it is a diverse public speaking club of authors, business owners, community leaders and individuals in various stages of career development. We are a Toastmasters International club, which provides a framework and set of standards for teaching public speaking and leadership skills. There are other Toastmasters clubs in Southern Oregon, but ours is specifically geared toward business networking.
We follow a schedule that begins at 4pm and reliably ends at 5pm. No RSVP necessary, more info can be found on MeetUp.

Free for guests. You are encouraged to be our guest for three meetings before making a decision on membership. Cost for membership is $45 every six months, plus a one time $20 new member fee.
