Medford Co-Op Expansion Plans

Medford Food Co-Op recently reported in their June 24 blog that they have signed a purchase agreement for property in the new commercial subdivision in South Medford. It is a 1.5 acre lot that will eventually house a 12,000 square foot building in which they will house their new store.

Their goal is to improve access to local, organic foods, provide more space for customers, offer a greater variety of products, and improve working conditions for staff.

The are currently in the due diligence stage of planning, receiving a $50,000 planning grant through America’s Healthy Food Financing Initiative to assist with planning and preliminary building design.

There will be a fundraising campaign along with gathering owner and community input as they move the project forward. Medford Co-Op’s priority is buying local to invest back into our local food system.
