According to Eric Hansen, Principal Owner of True South Solar, their endgame goal is “to have the entire valley produce more solar energy than we can consume. We want to work ourselves out of business.”
True South recently completed a large solar + storage project at Central Point Elementary School. The 200 new solar panels on the roof provide power for the school, while a 250 KW battery system will provide backup power for students and community members through power outages.

This follows another commercial solar installation on the roof of the Lithia Pavillion at Southern Oregon University over the summer. That 200 kW project is part of SOU’s long-term plan to completely offset their power bills with solar power.
