Oregon Caves – Offical Dark Sky location
A recent press release from the National Park Service announced that the Oregon Caves National Monument & Preserve has been awarded an International Dark Sky Park by DarkSky International. It is the 46th site administered by the National Park Service to receive this certification. Oregon Caves joins other Oregon DarkSky designations Oregon Outback, Sunriver, and Prineville Reservoir State Park.
Did you know that the Oregon Caves system has the only subterranean Wild and Scenic River in the nation? River Styx, which eventually flows into Cave Creek.
