A strong transportation ecosystem is critical for a strong economy and Southern Oregon continues to expand distribution options throughout the valley. The planned expansions at MFR are another piece to this vision. Wyden assisted in securing close to $7 million in federal grants to begin the initial phase of these projects.

With record-breaking passenger counts this summer and counts expected to “double in the coming decades,” MFR is due for these upgrades to enhance the passenger experience as well as provide competitive product distribution.

According to Kadera, “Airport officials are preparing to commence construction on phase one soon, with additional work planned as more funding becomes available.”
