SOREDI News: Congratulations to Amy Browne!

Here at SOREDI we are celebrating a great accomplishment by our very own Amy Browne! At last week’s OEDA conference in Eugene, Ore., our regional very own Marta Tarantsey presented her with a plaque acknowledging a successful completion of the Oregon Certified Economic Developer Program. Amy was one of six graduates of this 64-credit certification, containing 8 required courses. It is typically a two-year program.

Program Overview – The program is tailored to provide a broad-based knowledge of economic opportunities and trends, core competencies, and tools required to compete in today’s global economy with a focus on economic development in Oregon, both urban and rural. Courses will be offered in OEDA conference settings, as well as in one-day training modules throughout the year. Each course is taught by topic experts and reflects the realities of economic development in Oregon.

SOREDI team member, Terrill Roper, attended the ceremony saying that it was an honor to see Amy complete the OEDA training and be recognized among her peers for her hard work.

Though Executive Director, Colleen Padilla, was not in attendance, she sent her congratulations to Amy across the miles and acknowledged her hard work.

Way to go, Amy! We salute you and are proud of this great effort and achievement!
