Marshall Doak is the new Executive Director of the SOU Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Marshall has most recently served as the executive director of the Southeast Washington Economic Development Association and has worked a similar role in Sunnyside, OR. He has also served at the Oregon Small Business Development Center offices in Tillamook and Salem. Marshall’s office is located at the Higher Education Center in downtown Medford. SOREDI and the SBDC often partner to offer coaching and access to resources to local companies. Marshall replaces the recently retired Jack Vitacco. Brad Niva is the new Executive Director of Travel Southern Oregon, the regional destination marketing association. Brad brings over 20 years in the tourism industry to his new role. He was recently the oner of two successful tourism businesses in the Rogue Valley. Brad owned and operated Rogue Wilderness Adventures in Merlin, OR as well as a marketing brochure service called Northwest Brochure Service. He and his wife continue to operate Wine Hopper Tours. SOREDI and Travel Southern Oregon partner on efforts to attract visitors from outside the region. You may not be aware that a number of successful, local employers were originally drawn here as tourists. Brad’s new office is co-located with SOREDI at 100 E. Main Street, Ste A in Medford. Marta Tarantsey is the new Southern Oregon Regional Development Manager for Business Oregon. While she may be new to Southern Oregon, Marta has been working with businesses and agencies in Oregon to promote community and economic development since 20014. Business Oregon has recently reallocated some of the regions served by their Development Managers. Marta has been serving the Portland Region and has been reassigned to Jackson and Josephine Counties. Marta’s new office is co-located with SOREDI at 100 E. Main Street, Ste A, in Medford. The office previously housed Larry Holzgang, who has been reassigned to serve in the Klamath Falls region. SOREDI and Business Oregon often work together to offer incentives to regional business who are expanding or employers considering relocating to Southern Oregon.
