As a part of the fire recovery from the Alameda Fire, Spirit Village has been built for affordable housing to the Medford Area. The ribbon cutting took place August 1 for phase 1 of the project, to which Governor Kotek attended and performed the cutting of the ribbon. Phase 1 includes the four model homes toured on opening day.
Phase 2 is underway, including 17 finished homes and preparing plots for a total of 87 homes. Proud Ground, a Pacific Northwest community land trust, is offering the homes for sale below market cost for the displaced residents of the fire.
