Umpqua Bank Name Change to Columbia Bank

OregonLive recently reported that Umpqua Bank’s name change to Columbia Bank is slated for September 1, 2025.

Though the acquisition by Columbia Bank occurred in 2023, Umpqua Bank continued operating under its name. To mitigate confusion and to simplify operations, Columbia decided to merge the name into one, Columbia Bank.

According to Oregon Live, “…account numbers, online banking credentials and scheduled payments would not be affected by the change, and that customers could continue using debit and credit cards until they’re expired or replaced.”

Founded in Canyonville and currently headquartered in Lake Oswego, Umpqua Bank is the largest bank chartered in Oregon, “with 107 locations and $16.8 billion in deposits in the state.”

Columbia Bank headquarters continue to be located in Tacoma, Wash.
