The fastest-growing segment of start-up companies is woman-owned businesses. Additionally, Black women’s businesses have a larger share of Black-owned businesses than White women have in White-owned businesses. Even with this achievement, there is a long way to reach gender equality in business – particularly in entrepreneurship. Did you know about the gender gap in venture financing, particularly amongst women of color?
Don’t miss an opportunity to hear from our speakers next Monday about how economic development professionals can help close the economic gender gap. Women leaders and entrepreneurs will delve into a candid discussion on this economic gender gap that minority women entrepreneurs face and what best practices can be implemented in your organization.

She successfully served as a Tribal Alternate on behalf of the Shinnecock Nation for the Mid-Atlantic Committee on the Ocean, which facilitates coordination and collaboration among governmental entities and stakeholders to enhance the vitality of our region’s ocean ecosystem.
She has established this company due to the lack of cultural competency occurring in the governmental sectors, corporate sectors, and in individual lives. As an indigenous person who not only has the academic background regarding indigenous people’s position when it comes to history and environmental issues, she also lives it every day.
