Medford, Ore. – February 9, 2016:  – TEAM Oregon Advanced Manufacturing has launched Year 2 of its targeted statewide business development program. SOREDI is a long-standing team member of 20 economic development organizations and utilities from throughout Oregon who have invested $40,000 in the program.  This month, representatives from several regions of Oregon will be traveling to Southern California to participate in MD&M West including Colleen Padilla, Senior Business Development Manager for SOREDI. In addition, the team has 4-6  business prospect appointments slated, a number of one-on-one meetings with national site selector firms, and a hosted reception in Anaheim on February 10 for companies interested in learning more about advanced manufacturing opportunities in Oregon.  The overall goals are to promote Oregon as a destination for expansion and to pursue supply chain opportunities for local manufacturers.  The TEAM will be hosting an Oregon booth at the show in Anaheim, February 9-11, and making additional outreach calls on Friday, February 12. Three Oregon manufacturers will also be sharing booth space with the TEAM, as has been customary.

Med Tech WorldSOREDI has a long history or attending tradeshows to learn industry trends and serve as Southern Oregon’s ambassador. “We divide the tradeshow floor with the team and literally walk every aisle making outreach to companies from all over the nation. We are proactively inviting them to visit our respective communities and learn why Oregon may make sense for their expansion plans… it is simply one-on-one relationship building,” states Colleen Padilla. “Our hosted reception is also one more venue at which we can share Oregon foods, wines, and fellowship.”

When visiting cities outside the region for a tradeshow or other business activity, SOREDI also sets out to visit companies at their respective locations who have already expressed interest in Southern Oregon or have real expansion projects in the works.  Tradeshows and company visits are part of SOREDI’s overall strategy to help businesses relocate to Southern Oregon and create jobs in the region.
